After the death of a policeman during a native protest in Peru, the government accused the participants of murder and terrorism. A group of natives was arrested and imprisoned for the crime. The native people are poor and despised by the majority of the population, and their chance to win the trial is extremely slim. But a young native chief, Fachin, refuses to give up. With the help of a local British missionary, he contacts a famous Peruvian defense lawyer specialized in native cases. Together, they prepare the counterattack.
