Synopsis:

All across Cambodia, anger is rising at the forced expulsions carried out by the government who rents property to powerful private corporations. At Phnom Penh, those who refuse to leave their homes are violently evicted by the police. They end up in relocation camps with no infrastructure. A handful of resolute women, led by the charismatic Vanny, continue to fight and organize resistance. In the country, too, the powerful plunder the land. Faced with threats, intimidation and a corrupted justice, the villagers have no other choice but to “cover their rice fields with their own blood” to try to survive.
