Shallim is one of the numerous rickshaw drivers in New Delhi. Ambitious and enterprising, he saved money over the years to buy a motorized rickshaw. His dream collapsed when his wife became seriously ill and all his money went for care and treatment. Behind a sadly common story on poverty, lies the strength of a simple man with a great soul.
Seong-Gyou Lee was born in South Korea in 1963. Lee studied social welfare and began his career as a script writer for radio and TV in 1990. Shortly after, he started directing and producing documentaries. Besides filmmaking, Lee has worked as a journalist. Amongst over a dozen documentaries, Lee produced Children of God which won Netpac award and Telly award.
