My Migrant Soul is the story of Shahjahan Babu, a young Bangladeshi migrant worker who left for Malaysia in search of work. Having sold his only piece of property, the young man arrives in the host country to only find disillusionment, misery and frustration. My Migrant Soul highlights the plight of the migrant workers in these times and through one person illustrates the story of countless others who have suffered at the hands of those who profit from trafficking human lives.
Yasmine Kabir is an independent filmmaker based in Bangladesh. Her films have been seen widely all over the world and have received many awards and acclaim.
