Rumidjah left the bustle of Jakarta to live in the country with her friend Tumisa. After her departure, her son Bakti struggled to raise his daughter Tari. So he makes Rumidjah come back to the city. But Tari is growing up at a time when young people express their opinions, which means regular conflicts with the older generations. Yet, they all rely on Tari to get them out of the slums of Jakarta. The family is struggling to raise enough money to finance Tari's studies, but Tari prefers spending it all on parties with her friends when the evening comes.
