In 2006, Milan and Tomáš installed solar panels to provide electricity to a school and clinic in the remote Zambian village of Masuku. Five years later, they return to determine why some parts of the system don’t work. The film follows them over the course of hectic days, offering an uncensored look at the pitfalls of development aid, full of miscommunication but also of gratitude and proposals for solutions.
Born in 1974, Martin Marecek studied documentary film at FAMU, where he leads a creative workshop since 2003. His best known feature-length documentaries are Dust Games (2001) named the Best Czech Documentary at the Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival, The Source (2005) which received more than twenty international awards and Auto Mate (2009).
