A group of Israeli soldiers in the last weeks of their military service participate in an educational program designed for those who have not yet finished high school. In their civic studies class, their teacher asks them to think about human rights and democracy. In the classroom, they engage in heated debates, while re-living their dramatic military experience. The film underlines the efforts of an innovative teacher, who encourages young people to open their minds, in a country marked by contradictions and violence.
