In Bombay, 20 young women motivated by fame, a lucrative career, and freedom, follow intensive training to try to win the Miss India election. In another region, the Durgha Vahini, the women's branch of the fundamentalist movement, runs a camp to train young girls to become good Hindu women and fight against Islam, Christianity and the westernization of the country. Though they embody two extremes, they all have the same dream: to help shape India which is opening up to the rest of the world. A provocative portrait of the world's largest democracy in a difficult transition.
